My art is a sensitive expression of human vulnerability - a soft voice of compassion in the clamor and fear of our time.

The media are hand stitching and dying with vintage fragments of abandoned quilts and clothing: bibs, collars, infant dresses and christening gowns. In saving these fragments of fiber I honor the complex spirits of their makers as well as the children who wore them. These hand-worked textile designs have a quiet resonance, and they carry an empathy for our fragile existence. The transparent layering and gentle movement of the cloth echo our feelings.

Vintage fabrics and complex stitchery mirror our ephemeral life. This feminine, intimate work is patiently sewn stitch by stitch as we create life day by day, perhaps worn and frayed by time - as we are. They are expressions of our sympathy and care for ourselves and others.
